Why Opus Energy chose to support Daniel Keatings
In 2009 Charlie Crossley Cooke, Opus Energy's Managing Director, felt inspired by London hosting the 2012 Olympic games. He wanted to do his bit and support a local, Olympic training athlete.
Our search for a determined and ambitious athlete that demonstrated great potential within their sport uncovered Daniel Keatings. He specialises in all disciplines of artistic gymnastics, and excels on the pommel horse. Daniel is based in Northamptonshire, close to Opus Energy's Northampton base.

Daniel is showing great potential for the 2012 London Olympics, already breaking new ground in British men's gymnastics.
His medal winning streak of 2009 and 2010 came to a brief hiatus when he suffered a serious injury to his cruciate ligament in May 2010. He returned from this injury last year, and he is again showing great promise following his strong performance at the London Prepares event in January, helping Team GB secure a place at London 2012.

Daniel's place in Team GB at London 2012 isn't guaranteed. Like the other six hopefuls for the Team, he faces a tough few months of training to guarantee himself one of the five places.
